Welcome message from the Conference Presidents to participants, collaborators and friends of the scientific community.
Dear Colleagues and Friends,
It is our great pleasure to welcome you to the 15th Panhellenic Conference on Alzheimer's Disease (P.I.C.A.D.) and the 7th Mediterranean Conference on Neurodegenerative Diseases (Me.Co.N.D.), which will take place 24–28 February 2027 at the Research Dissemination Center (KEDEA), Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece.
The conference is jointly organized by the Panhellenic Institute of Neurodegenerative Diseases, the 1st Department of Internal Medicine, AHEPA University Hospital, School of Medicine, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, and the Panhellenic Federation of Alzheimer's Disease and Related Disorders.
For the first time, Professor Christos Savvopoulos, Professor of Internal Medicine at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH), joins the conference leadership as Co-Chair. The conference is set to be a high-profile event of exceptional scientific standing.
The rapid advances in neurodegenerative disease research are transforming clinical practice and reshaping the landscape of prevention, diagnosis and treatment. Dementia has become a highly collaborative field, where medicine converges with the biological sciences, biomedical engineering, digital technologies, data science and artificial intelligence, creating new opportunities to better understand disease mechanisms and translate scientific discoveries into more effective diagnostic and therapeutic approaches.
The scientific programme will highlight recent breakthroughs in biomarkers, disease-modifying therapies, precision medicine, digital health technologies, and artificial intelligence, with particular emphasis on translating scientific discoveries into everyday clinical practice. At the same time, the conference will serve as an international forum for education, scientific exchange, and collaboration, bringing together researchers, healthcare professionals, and scientists from diverse disciplines.
The opportunity for virtual participation further strengthens the international character of the meeting, enabling distinguished experts from around the world to contribute to the scientific programme while providing access to hundreds of healthcare professionals and researchers who are unable to attend in person. In this way, the conference fosters an open international network for knowledge sharing, collaboration, and scientific exchange.
The strong participation we anticipate reflects both the remarkable momentum of this rapidly evolving field and our shared commitment to translating scientific advances into improved prevention, earlier diagnosis, more effective treatments, and better care for people affected by dementia.
We warmly invite you to join us for this unique scientific gathering, where innovation meets experience, research is translated into clinical practice, and collaboration drives the future of neurodegenerative disease research and care.
